Carrier Liability & Cargo Protection
We're committed to the highest standards of care. However, it's vital to recognize that carrier liability is governed by specific federal regulations and the Carmack Amendment. Our standard liability for loss or damage is limited to $100,000 per shipment unless otherwise negotiated in writing before the dispatch of the truck.
Have you reviewed your additional cargo insurance needs for high-value loads? We recommend all shippers verify their coverage for exceptional commodities.
Claims and Timelines
In the rare event of an issue, we act fast. All claims for loss or damage must be filed within nine months of the delivery date, or in cases of non-delivery, within nine months of the scheduled delivery date. We promise to acknowledge receipt of any claim within 30 days.
- All claims must be supported by a signed Bill of Lading.
- Concealed damage must be reported within 48 hours of unloading.
- Salvage must be retained until the claim is fully processed.
Demurrage and Detention Rules
Time is the most valuable asset in trucking. To keep our fleet moving and our drivers within ELD compliance, detention charges apply after the first two hours of free time at BOTH the origin and destination. Why let a slow dock affect your bottom line?
Standard detention is billed at $75.00 per hour. If a driver is required to layover due to facility delays, a flat fee of $450.00 per night will be applied to the final invoice. We don't like charging these fees any more than you like paying them, so let's work together on dock efficiency.
/* TODO: consider adding a calculator for detention estimates */
Payment Terms
Our standard terms are Net 30 from the date of invoice. We're a logistics company, not a bank! We accept ACH, wire transfers, and major credit cards (subject to a processing fee). Late payments accrue interest at a rate of 1.5% per month. If you're a regular partner, ask us about our quick-pay incentives.
